From the moment they stepped into the plush surroundings of New Court, Naomi and Tony Swinson knew it was the place for them.
Living in a dedicated retirement property is not something the couple had considered when looking to downsize from their four-bedroom family home.
But once they had viewed one of the luxury apartments they soon warmed to the idea and decided to purchase a one-bedroom apartment in the Grade II listed building.
“It’s six months since we moved here and we love it,” said Naomi, who is a retired nurse aged 78. “We loved the atmosphere from the very beginning and the sales team were so helpful to us when we were shown round and explained everything as we hadn’t thought of moving to a community like this.
“I would totally recommend it and we have friends in Cirencester who we have invited over to have a look.”
New Court boasts luxury living in a sought after area in the heart of Cheltenham, offering a 24/7 concierge service on a safe and secure site, providing residents with peace of mind.
It has a private owners’ café bar and drinks with views on to landscaped gardens, an on-site restaurant and a library.
Naomi, whose husband Tony is an 82-year-old former maths teacher, said: “We lived in a four-bedroom house that needed lots of maintenance and it was stressful so our daughters suggested to us that it might be time to move. One of our four daughters lives in Cheltenham and she’d seen the new build going up.
“We were intending to buy a two-bedroom apartment but we were shown a one-bedroom one in the Grade II building and felt that it was right. There’s nothing we miss or wish we had.
“It’s a wonderful location, five minutes from Montpellier and there’s a bus stop right outside. It’s a ready-made community and the staff are exceptionally kind, they are brilliant with everything.”
She continued: “We really like the opportunity to make new friends and I think it’s nice that there’s the possibility of being involved in the social evenings and weekly coffee mornings. We like the fact there’s no compulsion to join in with anything.”
There are still a range of apartments available at New Court. For more information or to arrange a viewing, please visit https://www.newcourtcheltenham.co.uk/apartments.
