Built in 1862, New Court has witnessed many Christmases and this year is no different. This week, the New Court team spent a morning putting some Christmas sparkle into New Court’s show suite in preparation for the festive season.
As a residential mansion in the late-19th Century, the Christmas tree is likely to have been decorated with edibles such as apples, nuts & gingerbread, as well as real candles with a naked flame. Illumination is still a traditional feature, but this year the team opted for fairy lights powered by electricity!
Barbara Melough, New Court’s General Manager, said: “We are thrilled to be bringing festive cheer to New Court and to those who visit our show suite. The team and I are very much looking forward to what the New Year will bring.”
Early next year we look forward to opening the doors to our new owners and welcoming them into the latest chapter of New Court’s history. In December 2017, this historic building will again come alive again with the carols, festivities and family fun that it has been missing for too long.
We wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
New Court will be closed between Wednesday December 21st 2016 and Monday January 2nd 2017.
